TeaTalk – Red Dates & Digestive Tonic Shot recipe with Kathy Dang, ND, RAc


Dried red date, also known as Jujube is a native Southeast Asian fruit with a deep red color and sweet, chewy texture and it is used for centuries as a food and medicine. Watch the video and learn about the benefits and uses of red dates with Dr. Kathleen Dang, ND, RAc. Learn how to prepare a healthy red date paste and how to use it in the digestive tonic shot!

Take about 12 dates in a cup of water and bring to boil, then turn it off and let it sit covered for 15 minutes. Drain the dates in a sieve and reserve the decoction. Mash the dates through the sieve.

  • 1 cup of the reserved decoction
  • 1tsp ginger minced
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 whole Lemon squeezed
  • 1 Tbsp date paste
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup or honey

Mix together thoroughly!
