We have returned to the time of the Earth element, and a time to re-ground and re-balance. After the fire of the summer subsides, the ashes that lay on the earth re-nourish the soil and regenerate the earth. Now is a time to tune in to your body and note what may need re-balancing before we head into the next season. Our time of play is coming to a close, and our time of building is starting to begin. As our children start to prepare to head back to school to build their knowledge, our teachers prepare to build their lessons. With harmony and balance, we will find our centre. In this season we are in now, return to find your balance in life, to stabilize your centre and re-ground your energy.
We are pleased to help the women and children of the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre (DEWC) find their Earth centre. It has always been a dream mine to help the less fortunate. I am now surrounded by a team that also wishes to contribute back to our community in a way we know how to do best – though health and healing. On Wednesday September 16th Red Tree Wellness will be going to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre to provide an afternoon of health. We will be giving free mini-sessions of sonoacupuncture and acupressure, massage therapy and counseling. We are excited to be contributing to their community!
Lastly, Red Tree Wellness is will soon be stocking natural, unadultered, therapeutic grade essential oils for purchase. Using aromatherapy is a great way to improve the state of our emotions and promote the free flow of Qi. Essential oils go directly to our Limbic system, the psycho-emotional-physiological response centre of our brain, and thus directly affect our emotional and resulting physiological responses of how we ‘feel’ about something. From a Chinese Medicine perspective, essential oils go directly to the head and Brain, which house our Shen (Spirit) and hence can directly affect our emotions. Use essential oils like Lemon, Grapefruit, Thyme, Juniper, Marjoram, and Vetiver help promote Earth energy. Thus the oils can help us think clearly, feel nurtured and supported, and helps us return to center.
